Breaking things

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I’m in the middle of updating things around here – the sidebar and navigation will stay a little broken for a bit.

Splitting the blogs

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

Well I’m finally taking the plunge to be more like the ‘cool kids’ and having a technical blog and a personal blog. I’m leaving this as my technical blog and have copied the blog to the http://www.koali.com.au/life.

Over the next few days things are going to look a bit odd around here as I delete posts from both blogs (yes I backed up first ;) )

WordPress upgraded again

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Site upgraded :) I’ll get to the other sites I host later this weekend (adds to ever growing never shrinking todo list)

Unfortunately it didn’t include an update for fp10. Oh well, I’ll just have to cope without multiupload for a little bit longer.

Upgrading (and breaking) wordpress

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I’m about to update the blog to 2.5.1. I’m reverting back to the original default theme and will recreate mine from it. My skin was created way back in may 2005 so it doesn’t have many of the newer features of tags etc.

DON’T PANIC

update: blog reskinned and operational.

WordPress update

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Well this is my first wordpress upgrade that things haven’t gone completely smoothly :( It had to happen sometime.

I installed a clean new version of wordpress to identify if the issue was my blog or if it was the server.

I initially had two errors when upgrading.

The first was 3 javascript errors that occured everytime I pressed an icon that opened a window in the visual editor. Eg the image button or the link icon. This didn’t happen on the new install and so with a few clears of the cache and it is now working.

The second error is in the uploader and unfortunately this happens with the clean install. I get the message: “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” I have the flash debug player installed and it gives me the error that there was an unhandled IO exception.

I have checked folder permissions on the folders and they are correct. I don’t have the absolute latest flash player as the debug version isn’t the latest. However I can’t think of a reason it would need the absolute latest flash player to work. After going through all the options in the stickied support post, I ended up having to install the plugin to disable the flash uploader.
