This dress has been in production for a while. It is for baby immogen who arrived in February. The style is the same one that I made for Rubielee.
The rickrack and the ruffles take forever! but the effect is worth it in the end.

The below dress is for my little cousin who should join us in the big wide world any day soon.
My cousins were born (from memory) at 12 pounds and 14 pounds so I made this dress a small instead of a newborn in case 😉
It is a simple dress in concept, but there is a lot of little fiddly work there and a lot of maths! The rickrack is sewn on with a zig zag stitch so it won’t curl and I also worked out the math to get all the ruffles correct.
By the way, it sits and flows better when not put flat.
We are heading to lone pine koala sanctuary tomorrow and I thought I would deck sammy out in some aussie clothes. The plan was to get a few blank shirts and applique a range of australian animals on them. It took me a little while to draw all the creatures but then transfering that into a distinguishable shape on fabric is difficult and makes me crave an embroidery machine even more!
