One might ask why. I don’t really have a good reason besides that once I read about it I wanted it. I had the 512meg stick spare since I recently purchased the 1gig one. I guess it will come in helpful if I ever have to take a php website somewhere for demo purposes or to do some dev work.
I was browsing around the internet the other day and came across many portable applications designed to run on a usb stick or similar. One was XAMPP which is an apache, mysql, php etc bundle. It was really easy to install and start running.
